On the evening of December 14th, Club members gathered to celebrate the season at the Club’s annual Christmas party. The festive evening was akin to a motorcycle rally involving lively conversation, reuniting of old friends, and making the acquaintance of new friends.
The event was attended by 22 members and significant others over a happy hour and a scrumptious Italian meal at the Little Italy restaurant in San Antonio. The party goers devoured chicken parmigiana, lasagna, garden salad, and bread which were culinary marvels. The cholate cake and a fabulous New York cheesecake for dessert were licentious.
An honored guest at the event was Staff Sargent Marshall of the US Marine Corps. He represented the Toys For Tots program. He received the generous donated gifts on behalf of the program for distribution to the less fortunate children among us.
The 50/50 raffle which was held to give half of the dollars to the Toys for Tots program and the other half to the winning ticket holder brought in $198. Rodney Watts, who held the winning ticket, won a total of $99. However, being the generous guy he is, he donated his winnings to the Toy For Tots program. So, in addition to the generously donated gifts, the program received a total of $198.
This annual get-together is traditionally a hit with all party goers and didn’t fail to do so again this year.
