San Antonio BMW Riders Association Calendar
Today is
Today's weather.
|
In addition to the events posted here, we
also meet informally every Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. at the Wal-Mart parking
lot on 281 at 1604 and decide then where we go that week. If weather looks
threatening, give Chuck a call on his cell phone (410-5353). He's always open to hear about your
favorite breakfast place. Just let him know.

This event is put
on by the Internet BMW riders. It’s held in
Branson MO. We went last year and had a blast. It’s a rather
eclectic bunch, but lots of fun. This is a hotel rally, but there is
camping near by. If you go, be prepared for any weather (last year it was
rain and freezing weather). Due to the dates all your miles count for the
MOA mileage contest. NOTE – If you’re going to Branson please drop Chuck (cwetzel@satx.rr.com)
a line so he can get a head count. Details: (more at
http://www.ibmwr.org/,
just click on Current Happenings) The official location of this year's Branson Blitz will be The Branson
Towers - just off the RED route in
Branson , Missouri , USA .
http://bransontowers.com/ MAKE YOUR OWN RESERVATIONS at:

they'll tell you they're full. They kind of like us and give us special
rates! If Branson Towers is full of Blitzers, there may be more room at:
The Barrington - right across the street at
1-800-760-8866.
If you want to camp out there is more info at the
IBMWR site I mentioned above.

 | 5 - 7:00 PM, social at
Main Street
Pizza & Pasta, 110 N Crossroads Blvd |
 | 7 -
Club Picnic - Noon till ??? Lunch to be served about 1 PM.
WHERE
The festivities will be held at Steve and Helen’s new hilltop retirement
ranchette, which is about 1 mile off 281 just 5 miles north of Blanco.
Lots of shade, beautiful views, a great garage (oh, and a house, too).
Indoor and outdoor seating. There will be picnic tables and some chairs but
if you have lawn chairs (and a way to haul them) please bring them, just in
case. Detailed directions at a later date but there will be signs for the
directionally impaired.
WHO
All BMW club members and their family. Outside guests are permitted on a
limited basis. Please state if you are bringing outside guests when you
RSVP.
FOOD and REFRESHMENTS*
Menu will consist of beef and chicken fajitas with all the fixings, black
beans, salad, and deserts.
Refreshments – Water and Ice tea supplied by the club. For other
refreshments it’s BYOB.
If you would like to bring a desert item it would be appreciated but is not
required.
HOW CAN I ATTEND?
RSVP, with a head count, to
pmulhern@swbell.net, no later than
June 4th. If you prefer to call, my cell is
210-279-6074, a voice mail will suffice. If you have questions I
will call you back.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Yourself, any family, the refreshment of you choice, lawn chairs if possible
and a desert item if you wish. Everything else will be supplied by the
club.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
Well first off it’ll get humid, then, you’ll probably get wet if you don’t
take cover but, barring a South Texas frog strangler weather will not be an
issue.
All but the last 100 feet or so of the road to Steve and Helens is paved.
The unpaved portion is hard packed and shouldn’t present a problem if you
are on a bike.
*If you
are riding to the picnic and don’t want your “refreshments” all shook up
there is a convenient package store on the right as you leave Blanco.
SEE YOU THERE! |
